Yesterday Gregor (my friend, coworker and director of Osvaja.net d.d.) found out CakePHP and got excited about it.

As I am doing software analysis and further project management for Bookingpoint.net I have to make a decision whether use it in our project or not. And decision has to be made till tomorrow - two days to review this tool and decide if it's going to shorten development time or just bring a headache to programmers.

OK, lets do some initial research:

• development frameworks comparison on Wikipedia (I was only interested in PHP frameworks)
  

Alternatives I have to look at

• Symfony
• CodeIgniter
• Prado

I googled them a bit and found no real advantages over CakePHP so I will stick to Cake.

There are some books available at Amazon.com, unfortunately I have no time to wait for them to be delivered.

These are all nice sites and I guess they have relatively complex background. If they used CakePHP I guess it has to offer some kind of advantage to programmers. I'll try it out.
