Mastering Joomla! 1.5

Monday, 07 February 2011 20:22

by James Kennard

Joomla! is one of the most used CMS open source systems out there. I use it to develop web pages for my clients and simple web applications as well. Anyone who came across Joomla! and wanted to develop its own component knows that samples and documentation provided by Joomla! website is insufficient. Even code of core Joomla components is not consistent and it does not follow basic architectural concepts.

Managing information system security and privacy

Friday, 04 February 2011 20:00

by Denis Trček

I've read Managing information system security and privacy as part of my IPI exam studies. It was written by Denis Trček, my professor.

It explains how protocols security work. It's a bit out of date since protocols change every year. It gives, however, basic insights into network security and how we can manage information system security.

Atlantis

by David Gibbins

I wanted to read an interesting adventure and maybe expand my imagination a bit. Book title was promising. Unfortunately it did not fulfill my expectations. In contrast it bored me to my tears and it took me almost three months to completely read it as the novel reads like a professor's lecture.

Zvitorepec - Miki Muster

Wednesday, 24 December 2008 18:50

Zvitorepec, Trdonja in Lakotnik by Miki MusterDogodivščine Zvitorepca, Trdonje in Lakotnika was my favorite comic collection when I was little. It was written by Miki Muster one of the best (if not the best) Slovenian comic artists. I actually learned how to read for the love of this comics.

Trdonja, Zvitorepec and Lakotnik are the names of main characters. Their names represent their personal characteristics. Zvitorepec is drawn like a fox and is the most cunning one of them all, Trdonja is a turtle that has a hard shell, which often saves him in danger. The largest one is wolf called Lakotnik and he is the real stuffer who would eat everything he gets.

Even though they don't have regular jobs they never run out of money. They get by with rewards they get for successfully solved adventures.

Dogodivščine Zvitorepca, Trdonje in Lakotnika had quite an influence on Slovenian culture. Many people read it. There were stamps made, commercials, ski signs etc.

I read all of the comics again few days ago when I went down with a flue. Men, it brings back memories :)

Hope my children will read Zvitorepca, Trdonjo in Lakotnika as well some day.
